Welcome to JGS Ministries

It’s God’s time for harvest in Japan. Though it is one of the least reached nations in the world, the Lord has spoken many promises over this land and its people. The question for the body of Christ is, “How is He calling you to be part of this harvest?”

I have been serving in ministry in Japan since 2006. Since 2011, my wife and I have helped lead a house church in Tokyo started by a YWAM missionary couple. In 2020, they asked us to take full leadership as God was calling them elsewhere. Around that time, the church network I’ve long worked for merged with Catch The Fire. We are now a Catch The Fire Japan house church.

Our heart for our church is intimate fellowship and discipleship. Currently, everyone who attends has their own ministry or is a leader in their own right. We provide a space where missionaries and church leaders can come and be family—a place where they too can receive and not just always give.

Toward this end, God has led us to build a house (in progress—we move next month). In order to easily host people, we needed a place in the Greater Tokyo Area, within a ten-minute walk from a train station, and a well-insulated larger space. Noise containment is a major cultural concern, and we want to worship freely without hindering neighborly relations. All of this added significant cost to the build, but we have stepped out in faith and expectation of how the Lord will use this space.

We also assumed leadership of a long-running worship night—previously held in downtown Tokyo—that had been started by that same YWAM couple. We want to worship with the core team at our house, and then relaunch as a public ministry in the near future.

Our vision for that more public gathering is to create a place to train and equip believers in an atmosphere of worship. We want to disciple many Japanese leaders to be able to train others. Our goal is for this to multiply across the nation.

I also meet in-person and online with believers and leaders in Tokyo, across Japan, and globally. I teach, train, pastor, pray, and minister as the Holy Spirit leads. I want to move increasingly in His power, love, and authority.

God is greatly expanding the scope of our ministry, and this comes with increased need for prayer and financial support.

Please consider becoming one of our supporters to help bring harvest to Japan. I’m working with EquipNet—an organization for missionaries in the field—for donation support. My donation page is as follows:

I’ll write more soon.
